Great times. Great music. Great Cause.

On April 11th, 2014, Ithaca College will host the fifth annual Concert for a Cure, a concert to benefit the American Cancer Society and its fight against cancer. Come to enjoy a great time with your friends, listen to your peers perform great music, all while supporting a great cause. The doors will open at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased online for a discounted price of $10.00 up until the day before the concert, or at the door for $15.00. Both cash and credit/debit will be accepted at the door.

Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the event. Prizes will include gift cards and various items from many businesses in the Ithaca area. Bands will be selling merchandise, and cancer related student organizations will be tabling to promote upcoming events.

Ascensionals will also be available. They are similar to the luminaries sold at the Relay for Life. An Ascensional is a balloon with the name of a passed loved one, written on a small piece of card-stock, tied to the upper portion of the string. The Ascensionals will be released into the air, in front of Campus Center, during the closing ceremony. Ascensionals will be FREE during tabling.

In New York State alone, an estimated 109,440 new cases of cancer were detected last year. We all know someone that has been affected by cancer, whether we realize it or not. Come out and support the cause. All proceeds from the event go directly to the American Cancer Society.

We hate cancer, but we love music. Let’s make a difference, together.
